Pit Bulls

Hey everyone! I would like to take a minute to rant and rave. I am trying to work on Project 2 for my English class, in which we have to write either an op-ed or a feature about a topic of our choice. So, I chose to write mine on The American Pit Bull Terrier. I'm trying to show how they're nothing like their stereotypes and how they really do make great pets, but I'm having the hardest time doing that, and it's so irritating. I own three Pit Bulls, I did have four until one passed away, and I am in contact with another four (my boyfriends parent's Pits) all the time, and I think that they are the sweetest dogs. I absolutely love them. I hate hearing people talk about how mean they are and how they don't need to even exist anymore, that makes me so mad, which is why I chose this topic. But now that I'm working on it, anytime you type in Pit Bull or something to that affect you get a hundred hits sayin "Pit Bull kills child", "Pit Bull attacks dog", it's nearly impossible to find anything good about Pit Bulls which is really sad. I know the truth about Pits, but it's so hard to prove it to someone else when I can only base my statements on the eight that I'm around and not on any facts. Ok, now that I feel better by getting all of that out, I am going to go back to searching for some good stories of Pits.

Bye!!

...Sick...

Hey everyone! I know it's been awhile since I last wrote but I have been really sick and honestly just haven't felt like doing this. I got sick on Valentines Day and I haven't gotten better yet. It sucks. I feel so bad. So, as you can assume, I haven't done anything exciting that's worth talking about since I've been sick, so I don't have very much to write about.

I guess I'll start with Valentines Day since that's when I got sick. This year Valentines Day wasn't anything very special. I had my boyfriends F250 detailed for him and got him a card and that's about it. He got me some roses and a card, and if we can find one this weekend at the gun show he is buying me a shot gun to shoot skeet with for the big part of my gift. He told me before Valentines Day that I wasn't getting my big present until afterwards. He has to wait until the gun show this weekend because I have to have a youth gun and him and my dad are going together to pick me one out. I'm pretty excited. If he can't find one for me there then he's going to get the exhaust on my truck fixed and my windows tinted. He bought me Flowmasters for my truck last year but the exhaust is just turned straight down and not piped out the back which is illegal and I can't get it inspected. Valentines Day isn't such a big deal with us as it is with most couples my age because that's our second one together as a technical couple, but it's really our third one together.

I guess that's about all the rambling I can do about Valentines Day, so the only other interesting that has happened is the Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't win so I'm not happy. I was hoping he would win this year since it is 2008 and the 60th anniversary of NASCAR and the 50th anniversary of the Dayton 500 because it would have been so perfect since his dad won it in 1998 on the 50th anniversary of NASCAR and the 40th anniversary of the Daytona 500, but oh well.

Well, I think I am going to go to bed now and hope that I wake up feeling better than I do tonight. Goodnight.

Rambling...

Hey again! I guess it's time to do another one of these blogs, even though once again I have no clue what to write about. I guess I'll just talk about my weekend.

So here goes, to start with Tuesday was my friend Josie's boyfriend, Matthew's birthday and we were all supposed to hang out at his mom's house because they have a pool table, all sorts of games, and tons of four wheeler riding trails, but his step-dad was sick so we couldn't. Instead, we all went and ate at Cheeseburger in Paradise, which was delicious, and then went to the movies and watched "Welcome Homr Roscoe Jenkins". That was by far the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It was absolutely hilarious. I think that anyone who appreciates a good comedy movie should go watch it. I never stopped laughing throughout the entire thing.

Saturday night my boyfriend Eric and I and a few of our friends went to eat at a restaraunt called "Garlic Knots" which I have been to a thousand times and has always been good, but Saturday we went to the second "Garlic Knots" and it was horrible. Our waitress was extremely rude, the wait on our food was terrible, the service sucked, etc.

So far, today has been pretty uneventful. My mom, dad, Eric, and I took our Maltese, Ozzie, and my Chocolate Lab, Mocha, to Pet Smart for a baths, hair cuts, toe nails trims, and all of that good stuff, and while they were getting their baths we went and ate at Cheddars.

Well, now that you have been bored to death by the details of my weekend, I think it's time to do some homework. Have a good night! =]

.:.Just beginning.:.

Hey everyone! This is my first time ever blogging so I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be talking about. I guess I will start off by mentioning a little bit about myself. As you've probably already figured out, my name is Casey Stamey. I am currently a 19 year old freshman at Western Carolina University, where I plan to major in Special Education. I love sports, especially softball. In high school I played volleyball my first three years, basketball my second year only, and varsity softball all four years. I have also played on several different traveling softball teams, mainly the Tennessee Red Hotz and Smackers. I live in a small town where there's never much to do, so as a result I spend most of my nights hanging out with my boyfriend and his friends in a variety of parking lots around town. It's not the most fun anyone has ever had, but I love it. I have been with my boyfriend Eric for the past two years, even though we have been talking for the past three years. I have to say, I'm madly in love with him and that he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am dog crazy. I absolutely adore dogs. I would have one of every breed, or atleast all the large breeds, if I could. I have a 13 month old Chocolate Lab named Mocha. She is my life. I never leave home without her except to go to class, and I would take her there if I could get away with it. However, I think it would be pretty hard to hide her in a book bag considering she's 95 pounds and growing. My boyfriend has four Pit Bulls which I claim as mine. He got them all since we've been together so I think that qualifies them as mine. We have a 14 month old male named Tido, a one year old male named Boss*Hogg, and a 16 week old female named Taylor. About three months after Eric and I got together his dad gave him a Pit puppy for his birthday named Jersey. She was the best dog anyone could ever ask for. I loved Jersey so much and the feeling was mutual. I think I would even consider her as my best friend. Jersey got run over and broke her pelvis and then go pregnant and there was some complications and about two weeks after her puppies were born my best friend died. Only two of her puppies lived and so Erics mom kept both of them, Cole and Jesse. Well, I guess that you have probably heard enough about my dog obsession, and about me, so I think I'm going to close this blog by saying one thing:

It's Super Bowl night and Eli Manning and the Giants just pulled an incredible upset! =] It would have been awesome for the Patriots to have the perfect season, but I'm glad the Giants won.

Thanks for taking your time to read this, even though it was probably quite boring. Once I get the hang of this blogging thing, I should think of some better things to write about. Sorry!
